Proposed Endless Summer®
License Plate Design Survey Results

Senator Henry Stern filed SB 1027 that would create The Endless Summer®​ license plate and the bill was referred to the Committee on Transportation on February 27th, 2020. Due to the pandemic, the California legislature was shut down and Legislators returned to the state Capitol in May. They also must work with Governor Gavin Newsom to address a shortfall that could total $35 billion. 
The last day for policy committees to meet and report bills is August 18th, the last day for fiscal committees to meet and report bills is August 21st. The final Floor session will be August 24th-31st. The last day for each house to pass bills, (except bills that take effect immediately or bills in Extraordinary Session), is August 31st, 2020. Final recess of the session begins upon adjournment. It is not expected that SB 1027 will succeed, therefore, application will bemade to the DMV directly through a suitable sponsoring state agency.
Convening of the 2021-22 Regular Session is December 7th and the Legislature reconvenes on January 4, 2021 for the new legislative session.
